Fees & Rebates
Melissa uses a sliding scale for determining fees. She is willing to negotiate her fee if you are unemployed, a student or seeking long term therapy. You can talk to your doctor about a referral under the Better Access scheme, however, you don’t need to have a referral to access therapy; it just means that you will not be able to receive a Medicare rebate.
The Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative entitles you to 10 Medicare funded sessions per calendar year if you have a Mental Health Care Plan. Your GP or psychiatrist can refer you for treatment under the Better Access scheme if you are experiencing significant mental health difficulties. As a clinical psychologist, Melissa qualifies for the highest rebate which is $124.50 per session. Read more about Better Access to Mental Health Care
Health Fund Rebates
If you have private health cover, you may be eligible to claim some of the fee from your health fund.
